Leaving Portland made for a long day. Not only were we saddened for leaving Jason, the drive up the Columbia River Gorge on I-84 is always an arduous drive. This is made especially taxing. . .

Our time at Monterey went by way too fast. We camped as I had mentioned before right at the Monterey Fairgrounds where the famous festival was held, back in 1967. For those who may not know. . .

I’ve got a lot to catch up on. I am still going to try to be brief but you all know by now how that goes. We stayed on the top of the mountain another night. It was a lazy day of catch up and rest. A couple of small hikes but mostly just hanging out, cooking and resting. Monday morning we rolled back down the twisty winding road to Escondido as of course by now we needed a grocery store to pick up all the things we had forgotten the last time. The night in Palm Springs was pleasant, as we did little of anything but just hang out. We finished the Netflix series we had been watching and turned in early. I think I remember loosing a couple of games of cribbage, but I hope I am wrong.
